Twinning programmes offer an edge

GUNTUR: Engineering colleges of St. Mary’s Group of Educational Institutions have been successfully offering twinning programmes in collaboration with reputed universities in the United Kingdom and United States of America, its founder-secretary R.V.K. Rao has said.
Engineering colleges established in Hyderabad, Guntur and Prakasam have tied up with Marist University in New York State and Napier University at Edinburgh in Scotland in offering various UG and PG courses, he told reporters on Thursday. Students opting for twinning programmes would have the advantage of pursuing two years of their study in universities abroad and paying less. The on-line counselling for admission into minority colleges would simultaneously begin on July 16 at Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Kadapa and Vijayawada.
The Consortium of Minority Colleges would have the discretion of filling the seats as per the SC guidelines, he said. He stated that their college would not collect capitation fee and said that they would also abide by the directions of the government over the full waiver of fees paid by the minorities and students belonging to BC, SC and STs.
