M.Tech in nuclear engineering

Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy (SASTRA) University, Thanjavur, is offering a two-year M.Tech. programme in Nuclear Engineering from this academic year 2008-09.

The curriculum for the M.Tech. in Nuclear Engineering was formulated by nuclear scientists belonging to the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu, the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, and the Inter-University

Accelerator Centre, New Delhi, with inputs from SASTRA faculty.

The programme would have papers in advanced mathematics, nuclear physics, reactor physics and nuclear reactor technology. There would be a laboratory course in radiation measurement. It is also starting M.Tech. Pharmaceutical Technology from the 2008-09 academic year .
