U.S. based Tessolve Inc. in association with Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu has decided to roll out a training programme for engineering graduates in its Finishing School at Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Instronic Campus, Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai, from September 1, to make them readily employable in semiconductor companies in the area of testing and manufacturing.
To start with, the Finishing School plans to offer three courses namely Semiconductor Testing using Automatic Test Equipment (STATE), Embedded System and Embedded Wireless System.
It is not a walk-in course and students have to take a 30-minute online test.
Seminar
Tessolve officials have decided to conduct a seminar titled ‘Opportunities in Semiconductor industry in India’ at its campus on July 26 (10 a.m. and 3 p.m.) and 27 (10 a.m.) to create an awareness about the courses.
Giving details about the certificate programme, a Tessolve official said STATE is a two- month full-time or four-month part-time course. It consists of three modules. Daily sessions for full-time comprise five hours, and part-time classes will happen only on Saturdays and Sundays for five hours (both lecture and lab work).
Duration
Embedded Wireless System is a four-month course, while Embedded System is a three-month course. Both consist of five modules and daily sessions comprising three hours of both lecture and lab work.
“The School would offer advanced electronic chip testing and training facility. We are the first company to set up a training division for engineering graduates. In Singapore and the U.S., only corporates can undergo training. After the completion of the course in Chennai, we are going to provide them placement assistance,” said the company official.
