Many test their luck at job mela

GUNTUR: Some 6,000 aspirants registered themselves for the mega job mela organised by Mahatma Gandhi College and VT Manpower on the college premises here on Saturday. Four companies sent their representatives to conduct written examination and Human Resource interviews to either directly offer jobs or shortlist them for further screening.

While three companies Hinduja Group Company HTMT, Country Club and India Infoline offered jobs, Cipla Pharma would hold an online test for 30 candidates shortlisted by VT Manpower on its behalf for offering jobs. All these companies were looking for tele-sales executive, customer care executive and sales executives in both voice and non-voice categories.

Offer letters

HTMT offered letters to 25 candidates. Each one of them would receive Rs.7,500 per month for three months while on training and then Rs.10,00 per month. Country Club would offer Rs.8,000 to the successful candidates after an HR round in Hyderabad for which 25 were shortlisted. The Cipla Pharma proposed to pay Rs.12,000 per month and those joining India Infoline would get upward of Rs.8,000 for which six candidates were handed over offer letters.
While Mahatma Gandhi College directors DAR Subrahmanyam and DLK Ratna coordinated the event, manager-operations, VT Manpower, Chennai, Mohan Kumar coordinated with the participating companies. On an average, 70 per cent of those selected were boys and 30 per cent girls compared to an equal number of them participating in the interviews.

Meanwhile, Eureka Forbes Ltd. organised campus recruitment at P.N.C. & K.R. Degree College, Narsaraopet, on Saturday. The interview was meant for selection of candidates for the post of marketing and sales executives.

Those possessing B.A., B.Sc., B.Com degrees had come for interviews for the posts in Guntur. The company selected 19 candidates in the 19-26 age group. The selected persons would receive basic salary of Rs. 4,870 besides additional incentives and bonus, according to college principal J.V. Srinivasa Rao.
