State to set up ITI at Kataram soon

Karimnagar June 19: The stage is set for offering the self-employment oriented technical education for the benefit of the unemployed youth of the remote areas of the Manthani division. The department of technical education has given its approval to set up an industrial training institute (ITI) near Dhanwada in Kataram mandal soon. The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekahar Reddy, earlier sanctioned an industrial training institute for Kataram mandal during his Palle Bata programme in Manthani division more than two years ago.
However, the non-availability of suitable land delayed the establishment of the most sought after institute till date. In this backdrop, the government whip and Manthani MLA, Mr D. Sridhar Babu, who played an instrumental role in persuading the Chief Minister sanction an ITI for Kataram mandal, sanctioned 3 acres of his ancestral land near his native village Dhanwada in the mandal for the institute. The MLA has already donated some lands in his native village for construction of a temple and kalyana mantapam.
The latest move is all set to enable the rural unemployed youth of the interior areas of Kataram, Mahamuttaram, Mahadevpur, Malhar and other mandals of the Manthani division pursue the job-oriented technical diploma course. Meanwhile, Mr Sridhar Babu visited Dhanwada along with the officials concerned on Thursday and reviewed the arrangements for construction of a building for the upcoming ITI in the land donated by him near Dhanwada. He also inaugurated a newly-constructed cement road in the village on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the new ITI is likely to become operational in August. “The institute will enable the unemployed youth gain access to technical education and pursue self-employment opportunities to become self-reliant,” he said. Kataram ZPTC member, Suguna, agriculture market committee chairman C. Narayana Reddy and others were present.
