KADAPA: A second Sainik School sanctioned in Andhra Pradesh, will be established in Kadapa, Korukonda Sainik School Registrar Natarajan said on Thursday.
Mr. Natarajan held discussions with Kadapa Collector M.T. Krishna Babu in the Collector’s camp office on availability of suitable sites for setting up the school in Kadapa. Land having water and power facilities will be chosen and all required facilities would be provided besides a playground. A hospital should be located nearby, he said.
The Collector said proposals were forwarded indicating availability of two suitable sites near Kolumulapalli in Chintakommadinne mandal and one site near Guvvalacheruvu in Ramapuram mandal. The second Sainik School was sanctioned on the initiative of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Union Defence Ministry, Mr. Babu told newsmen. The school would admit students from the sixth to 12th standards and those passing out could join the NDA.
