Eamcet 2008 Results announced on Saturday

Gopishetty Raghu, a student of Sri Vaishnavi College in Kukatpally, came on top in the medical stream of Eamcet-2008 while Lokesh Gangineni of Sri Chaitanya College in Tirupati stood first in the engineering stream. Vaishnavi College is owned by Narayana Education Group. While Raghu secured 158 marks out of 160 in his second attempt, Lokesh topped the list by scoring 159 in his first attempt. Over 94 per cent candidates in both the streams qualified in the exam, the results of which were released here on Saturday.
Of the 2,65,359 candidates who appeared for the engineering stream, 2,51,737 candidates qualified and out of the 77,323 candidates who appeared for medical stream, 75,353 candidates qualified. While boys exceeded girls in terms of pass percentage in the engineering stream, girls outpaced boys in the medical stream. Students from the Hyderabad city excelled in both streams by securing top two ranks. Sri Chaitanya secured the top ranks in both the streams. Its students Lokesh and Arjun Agarwal stood first and second respectively in the engineering stream. S. Arun Sai of Sri Chaitanya got fourth rank, and two students — Abhitej Anup and D. Vamsi Krishna — were eighth.
In medical stream, Sri Chaitanya student Laxmi Niharika got third rank by securing 158 marks. Likewise, G. Tarun got fourth rank, J. Rajasree got fifth rank, A. Sree Pradeepti got seventh rank and K. Mounica got 11th rank respectively
Students of Narayana fared better by getting a major chunk of top ranks in medical and engineering streams. In the medical stream, Narayana secured 11 ranks in the top 20.
In the engineering stream, M. Durga Prasad Reddy secured third rank, Rajesh got sixth rank, and Amani got ninth rank respectively.
Narayana College claimed that G. Raghu, who got first rank in the medical stream, was its student. G. Rahul Sai got third rank, Harkirath Singh Talwar secured seventh rank, Rohit secured eighth rank and Niyothi Reddy got 11th Rank. Venishetty Shanthan also secured 11th Rank
Though three candidates in medical stream secured 158 marks, Raghu was awarded first rank, Rahul Sai and Sriram Rama Lakshmi Neeharika were awarded third rank.
“Raghu secured more marks in biology and so he was awarded first rank,” said Mr K.C.Reddy, chairman of APSCHE.

Engineering stream:
1st: Gangineni Lokesh, Tirupati (159 marks)
2nd: Arjun Agarwal, Hyderabad (158 marks)
3rd: M. Durgaprasad Reddy, Hyderabad (157 marks)
4th: S. Arun Sai, Vijayawada (157 marks)
5th: Md. Ali Mirza, Warangal (156 marks)

Medical Stream:
1st: G. Raghu, Secunderabad (158 marks)
2nd: G.Rahul Sai, Hyderabad (158 marks)
3rd: S.R.L. Neeharika, Vijayawada (158 marks)
4th: Gattu Tharun, Vijayawada (157 marks)
5th: J. Rajasri, Visakhapatnam (157 marks)
