Counseling schedule for provisional admission into Post-Graduate Medical Courses for the academic year 2008-09
Notification Date: 15-04-2008
The counseling for provisional selection for admission into Post-Graduate Medical Degree / Diploma Courses for the academic year 2008-09 will be held from 21-04-2008 at Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada as per the schedule given below. The counseling will be held from 9.00 AM to 6.00 P.M. on each day. The candidates remaining, if any, will be called for counseling on the next day.

The selections will be done for those seats which are recognized/permitted by the Medical council of India in to affiliated colleges for the year 2008-09

The selection of candidates for P.G. Medical Courses shall be as per the orders of Government in G.O.Ms.No.74, HM & FW (E2) Department, dt.21-3-2006 and as per the regulations for admission to PG Medical courses for the academic year 2008-09.

The available seats recognized/permitted by the MCI and University area wise roster points for counseling will be displayed in the University website and on the notice board of the University one day before the commencement of the counseling.

Note: Physically handicapped candidates of all areas are informed to report at University Campus at 9.00 A.M. on 20-04-2008 (Sunday) before the Medical Board constituted by the University for confirmation of status of disability as per the guidelines of Medical Council of India and only those candidates confirmed by the Medical Board will be eligible for the seats reserved under PH quota.

All the candidates who have qualified at the Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test 2008 held on 12-03-2008 are advised to attend the counseling as per the schedule detailed above. They should bring all original certificates and a demand draft for Rs.7,600/- (Rupees Seven thousand six hundred only) for a seat in Government Medical College and Rs.10,600/- (Rupees Ten thousand six hundred only) for a seat in Private Medical College. The demand draft should be drawn on any nationalized Bank in favour of the Registrar, Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, payable at Vijayawada. The in-service candidates eligible under service quota and fulfilling the eligibility criteria of remaining service as per G.O.Ms.No.122, HM & FW (E2) Department, dt.13-4-2006 shall attend the counseling with latest service certificate, in original, issued by the concerned Directorate.

All the candidates shall verify their Social Status, Local Area and In-service eligibility in the Merit list before commencement of the counseling process and if there is any discrepancy, they shall bring the same to the notice of the University with documentary proof for correction on or before 2.00 P.M.18-04-2008. No changes in the Merit list shall be made after commencement of counseling process.

The candidates shall come prepared to stay for one or more days, if required.

The candidates selected will have to report and join the course on or before 29-04-2008 in the respective colleges and submit bond.

Mere attending the counseling does not confer right for a seat as more number of candidates are called than the number of available seats.

Candidates who are appearing in the final examination of the qualifying degree and expecting their results and certificates before 31st July 2008 are also eligible to apply.

Reservation of seats: In each course, 15%and7.5%of the seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates respectively with a provision for inter-changeability wherever necessary. 3% of the seats are reserved for Physically challenged candidates. Relaxation in the prescribed percentage of marks in the qualifying degree / other examination is also provided for these categories. EAMCET 2008 Eligibility :
Candidates satisfying the following requirements shall be eligible to appear for EAMCET-2008.

a. Candidates should be of Indian Nationality.

b. Candidates should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh.

A . For B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.Sc. (Ag.) / B.Sc. (Hort.)/ B.F.Sc/B.Tech (FS&T)/B.Sc (CA & BM) Courses Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) or any examination recognised as equivalent thereto by the Board of Intermediate Education A.P., with any two/three of the subjects indicated in the EAMCET Booklet

For MBBS/BDS Courses: Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of the Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optionals which shall include a practical test in these subjects, OR any examination (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology including practical test in each of these subjects, recognised as equivalent to Intermediate by the Board of Intermediate Education, Hyderabad.

Candidates should have completed 17 yrs of age as on 31st December of the year of admission and an upper age limit of 22 yrs for all the candidates and 25 yrs in respect of SC/ST candidates as on 31st December of the year of admissions.
C. For B.Pharm Courses : a) Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of the Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology optionals, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognised by the Board of Intermediate Education as equivalent thereto.

b) Candidates should have completed 16 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission. There is no upper agelimit. D. B.Tech (Bio-Technology) : Candidates should have pursued or appeared for the final year of Intermediate examination (10+2 pattern) with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as optional alongwith the bridge course examination in Mathematics conducted by Board of Intermediate Education, Govt. of A.P shall be eligible.
For Engineering, B.Pharmacy (M.P.C), B.Tech Dairying, B.Tech (Ag.Engineering), B.Tech (Food Science and Technology) (FS&T), B.Sc (Commercial Agri & Business Mgt) (CA&BM) courses:

(i) Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optionals or related vocational courses in the fields of Engineering and Technology, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh along with bridge course or courses conducted by it for candidate enrolled during 2001-2003 and subsequent batches, or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh.ORCandidates should have passed or appeared at the final year of the Diploma examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, A.P.

(ii) a) In the case of Engineering, Pharmacy courses, candidates should have completed 16 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit.b) In the case of B.Tech Dairying, B.Tech (Ag.Engineering), B.Tech (FS&T) and B.Sc (CA & BM) offered in Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission and an upper age limit of 22 years for all the candidates and 25 years in respect of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe candidates as on 31st December of the year of Admissions.

A candidate may submit the application in either of the two ways. In any case, the candidate has to purchase the application, which contains a unique application number and a code. EAMCET-2008 Syllabus:
The syllabus is in tune with the syllabus pursued by the Intermediate students of academic year 2006-07 (Ist year) and 2007-2008 (IInd year) and is designed at the level of Intermediate Course and equivalent to (10+2) scheme of Examination conducted by Board of Intermediate Education, AP.
- The syllabus is designed to indicate the scope of subjects included for EAMCET. The topics mentioned therein are not to be regarded as exhaustive.
- Questions may be asked in EAMCET-2008 to test the students knowledge and Intelligent understanding of the subject.
- The syllabus is applicable to students of both the current and previous batches of Intermediate Course, who are desiring to appear for EAMCET-2008.

EAMCET 2008 Results & Qualifying Marks :
i. Candidates shall be ranked in the order of merit in the EAMCET-2008 on the aggregate marks. In case of a tie, marks obtained inBiology, in case of further tie, marks obtained in Physics, shall be taken into account to decide the relative ranking. In case of candidates getting equal marks in these subjects, they shall be bracketed for purpose of award of ranking, and at the time of admission, the total percentage of marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying examination shall be taken into consideration.On further tie, age shall be taken into consideration, the older candidate being given priority.

ii. Rank obtained in EAMCET-2008 is valid for admission to the courses mentioned in the application form, for the academic year 2008-2009 only.

iii. Rank card will be posted to the candidate’s address as given in the application.iv. Rank obtained with the benefit of relaxation of the minimum qualifying marks at EAMCET-2008 by any candidate claiming to belong to SC/ST Category will be cancelled in case the claim is found to be invalid at the time of admission to any course of study in any participating Universities / Institutions
QUALIFYING MARKS FOR EAMCET – 2008 :

The qualifying percentage of marks in the EAMCET-2008 is 25% (40 out of a total 160). However, for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, no minimum qualifying mark is prescribed. But their admission will be limited to the extent of seats reserved for such categories (Vide G.O.Ms. No. 179, LEN&TE, dated 16.06.1986)
